From Amaya’s first bottle feeding at 2 days old, she spit up her milk, whether it was
freshly pumped breast milk or formula. And not just a little . . . it was enough to get
her socks wet! It didn’t bother Amaya in any way but it did require more frequent
feedings, which meant more pumping from mom.
After 2 months of trying to find a solution,
Amaya’s mom bought glass bottles.Never
again did Amaya spit out her milk or have
the really bad-smelling gas she’d been
experiencing! Although she'd been using only
BPA-free plastic bottles, obviously something in the plastic didn't agree with Amaya's
little tummy. It was the plastic bottles that was causing the acid reflux, even when
the bottle hadn't been heated!
With the glass bottles, however, came another dilemma. Warming the glass bottles
with a bottle warmer caused the glass itself to be too hot to touch even though the
contents were the perfect temperature.
Bottle Swottles were born. They swaddle the bottle to protect it if dropped and keep
the milk insulated for a couple of hours. A variety of designs were thoroughly tested
by babies and moms until Bottle Swottles.
Read Amaya’s Story for full details (and links) about the quest to cure her spitting up
and terrible gas. Doctors diagnosed acid reflux and even gave Amaya medicine for
her acide reflux. But her mom never gave her the medicine. She felt there had to
be a better answer than medicine. After several weeks of trying different bottles,
nipples, sitting positions, breast milk, formula, soy formula and low-gas formula,
powdered or pre-mixed, Amaya's mom finally tried a glass bottle. From the very first
feeding Amaya didn't spit up! It was amazing!
Bottle Swottles are a covering for baby bottles, whether plastic or glass. They
protect the bottle, and insulate the milk contents for a couple of hours, which is
verify helpful when mom is out running errands with the baby.
Each swottle is designed with fabric and ribbons and trimmings that are helpful and
fun for the baby to touch while they are feedings. In fact, baby holds onto the
swottle and the trimmings while feeding. They enjoy touching it and it helps them
hold their own bottle.
Swottles are coozie (koozie) -like coverings for baby bottles. They protect the bottle
and insulate the contents. And they are very cute, all handmade with fabrics and
ribbons that baby enjoys looking at and touching while they are feeding.

Bottle Swottles
